Week 24 – Somewhere Along the Road of A Hero’s Journey

Somewhere Along The Road - A Hero's Journey

Somewhere along my road of a Hero’s Journey, I’ve found the ability to enjoy the moment. Mark, Davene and the rest of the MKMMA support team just finished the 24th week of the Master Key Experience. The memories streamed through my head as I listened to the stories of my fellow travelers Ann and Hong Mai. There has been so much growth and personal discoveries. Simply amazing! Towards the end of the webinar, this song by Dan Fogelberg came to mind so I thought I would share it with you all.

Enjoy…

Along The Road ~ Dan Fogelberg

Joy at the start
Fear in the journey
Joy in the coming home
A part of the heart
Gets lost in the learning
Somewhere along the road.

Along the road
Your path may wander
A pilgrim’s faith may fail
Absence makes the heart grow stronger
Darkness obscures the trail.

Cursing the quest
Courting disaster
Measureless nights forebode
Moments of rest
Glimpses of laughter
Are treasured along the road.

Along the road
Your steps may tumble
Your thoughts may start to stray
But through it all a heart held humble
Levels and lights your way.

Joy at the start
Fear in the journey
Joy in the coming home
A part of the heart
Gets lost in the learning
Somewhere along the road
Somewhere along the road
Somewhere along the road.

  1. So much baggage at the beginning — such a heavy load!
You’re bringing less of it back home, baby!
Left some of your heart out on the road?
    I doubt it, yet maybe.
So where we finish is where we start…
And as Marj points out, the joy is in between.
    Put it all together, each and every part;
And it’s all good, if you know what I mean.

And I know you know what I mean, Bob; because even when not quite certain (I’m confused by much of what I say), you’re an expert at expressing, while others are left there guessing, a better way of knowing, a better way of going — better is best is what I always see you showing…and you love to show the way! Ecstatic and thrilled you’ve joined the March to 3000 — as I have been to have you with us on this journey!

    1. Loren, the point really is that it is a journey and each moment has value and lessons. Yes, there is sacrifice but, like this course the benefits far outweigh the costs. Chapter 24 of The Master Key was near prefect as it ties much of this together with a tidy bow.
