Week 9 – Seeking Enthusiasm, the Most Powerful Engine of Success

Emerson On Enthusiasm

“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

This week is still a bit of a stretch with trying to infuse my service card readings with enthusiasm. This post is for all those like me who are still feeling a little weak in this area. Actually, it is not weak, it is self conscious of those around me who may hear my enthusiasm as it is so rare that they hear it.

Upon reflection, I find it strange that I can describe business and technology (both dry subject to many people) with enthusiasm, yet as applied to these readings they seem almost hollow. I’m augmenting my readings with my recordings which helps a lot as I can take the feelings evoked from the music and the images they evoke to conjure the emotions and enthusiasm necessary to plod forward.

Keywords:Description:
Passion Leading with Passion: 3 keys to sharing your enthusiasm – When it comes to leadership traits, “passion” is hard to pin down, but it is vital to engaging the hearts and minds of followers—or employees. Passionate leaders have the spark that can foster commitment and determination in their employees. – http://baird-group.com/
Inspiration Share Your Enthusiasm“Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Eagerness “Do stuff. be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration’s shove or society’s kiss on your forehead. Pay attention. It’s all about paying attention. attention is vitality. It connects you with others. It makes you eager. stay eager.” ― Susan Sontag

Greek enthousiasmos The Power Of God That Burns Within; ENTHUSIASM. “Look it up,” the Spirit said. “It is more than just being excited about something.” The word “enthusiasm” is from the Greek word enthousiasmos, formed from two words, en, meaning “within,” and theos, meaning “God.” “God within,” or “the presence of God within you.” God within your efforts, inspiration, God breathed upon, or a strong feeling of excitement and energy that is put within you by God. – https://scripturenuggets.wordpress.com/tag/enthousiasmos/
Enthusiasm definition A strong excitement about something; a strong feeling of active interest in something that you like or enjoy. Something causing a feeling of excitement and active interest. – http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/enthusiasm

Despite the above, there are still serendipitous moments in my business where things in my DMP, and from my SITs are arriving with regularity. How grateful I am for my dear friend and protector who watches over me and listens to my desires, my prayers and my foibles confessed. I am also most humbled by the greats like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Haanel who consistently convert moments of frustration into moments of discovery and this new foundation I am building.

Here I sit, looking forward to more exploration and conquering of habits long formed in blind submission to the edicts and tutelage of who choose to remain in the dark. It is to them I call and press forward through the fog to perhaps call, be heard and lead one to the safety of self reliance.
